15 to 20 Cm of snow made the town of Fernie look like a winter wonderland today!….pull out those skis and wax them up because its shaping up to be a bumper early season.

This is one of a few fossils that can be found around the Fernie area, mind blowing!!
It is amazing that generations of people can see this and it remains nearly fully intact & untouched….for these reason sorry we cannot reveal the location. But keep your eyes peeled on your next hike

The Fernie Alpine Resort Job Fair 2009 had a fantastic turn out. This is a picture of just some of the backpackers from around the world and throughout Canada who traveled to Fernie for the job fair held on Saturday. Keep an eye out for these guys on the hill this year!

Minus 15 degress + a wind chill made it the perfect day to browse local arts, crafts and home made baking & treats at the Fernie Fall fair. Bouncy tents were also set up for some kids fun.

This apple vender had his stall situated at the entrance to the fall fair … he sure was super friendly & chatty as he stood in the shade in minus 15 all day!!

The last couple of days has produced a small dusting of snow in the mountains surrounding Fernie.
This is a picture of the snow line at Fernie Alpine Resort as seen from town…..fingers crossed that we get more of some of this nice white stuff!!

What an impressive turn out of competitors and supporters for the Fernie Half Marathon held on Sunday! This marathon supports non for profit organizations and this year the proceeds will go towards local children non profits including the Fernie heritage library.
